The current administration strongly promotes using alternative energy sources (http://www.whitehouse.gov/energy). However, President Obama could show a strong personal commitment to this matter by having his own personal residence no longer rely upon oil-derived energy (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/technology/2012/09/changing-cities-where-are...). Perhaps this could inspire millions of Americans just like Mrs. Obama's planting a garden did.
