Our people were brought to the US against our will to work without pay for the white man. We were whipped and beaten, made to live in substabdard housing while the white men lived in their big houses, and treated like cattle. Once we were freed, we were counted as only three fiths of a person for the purpose of counting representatives. We were also promised forty acres and a mule. Yet no one ever got those things. The white man lied and cheated us and broke his promise to us. Once we were freed, the president had plans to send our decendents to Liberia in Africa, a foreign land where these decendents had never been.
In return for being kidnapped and forced to work under such cruel conditions, then being lied to after we were freed, we demand that the white people pay us reparations.
