make women's salaries equal to those of men. Women still earn less than men do, 40 years after the feminist movement.

Created by S.D. on February 23, 2014

Currently, women earn around 77 cents to every dollar men do in their same field. This should not be occurring in this modern age, nearly 40 years after the first wave of the feminist movement. I petition to raise women's pay and make equal pay for all mandatory by law. This issue is one of economy, civil rights and liberties, and women’s issues. Through enacting this law, not only women, but the economy would benefit. The raise in pay would allow more flow of revenue throughout the economy, as more women would have more money. There is no truly acceptable reason as to why women are not able to earn as much as men, as they are now taking the same, or higher, jobs as men and are also earning higher educations than men (there are currently more women attending colleges than men).
