This petition seeks to abolish the current 5 year service requirement for members of Congress to become eligible for pension, and establish a 20 year mandate equal to that of the United States Armed Forces before ANY federal pension can be drawn by ANY and ALL civilian members of Congress and federal political offices.
The men and women of the United States Armed Forces serve a minimum of 20 years before they are eligible for a pension (unless approved for early medical retirement).
Congress, ALL federal level employees, lawmaker, and politician pension requirements will now be mandated to mirror that of the very men and women they send off to defend this country.
