Mandate all congressional pay changes be approved by each representative's constituents

Created by M.H. on January 03, 2013

In an effort to increase transparency and re-align Congressional members' priorities with those of their constituents, I hear-by recommend the implementation of a mandatory ballot initiative placing each representative's name next to both the current and requested Congressional salaries, ie:

Rep. Jon Doe (R-AB) requests a pay increase from $75,000 per year to $125,000 per year.

This would in turn allow each American to express their satisfaction with Congress in a meaningful way, as well as encouraging each representative to make sure that not only they, but each of their colleagues, are working together and upholding standards they are willing to put their names behind.
