mandate all people with influence to raise awareness and educate the public on mental illness.

Created by M.H. on December 15, 2012

1 in 4 people in the United States are affected by a mental illness. However, people are not getting help because either they don't know where to turn, can't afford it, or afraid of losing their job or friends because of the stigma.

We need athletes, actors/actresses, media personnel, musicians, politicians, etc. (people of influence) to help educate the public about what mental illness is, what someone who suspects that someone is struggling with a mental illness can do, and help to stomp out the stigma of mental illness.

If someone wants to talk about a violent crime associated with a mental illness, they should also have to provide the previous information.
