Texas already does this. Every school district in every state should have their own police department. Within these police departments have an officer assigned to every campus who is the first to arrive in the morning and the last to leave at night. Many school districts in Texas already have this and I know it helps. The officers can even teach classes about avoiding drugs, gang violence, or gun safety. This can't prevent it all but it can help. It puts a highly trained person who can immediately respond and can immediately dispatch additional officers to help.
