Mandate all United States police officers to go through non-lethal force training.

Created by D.J. on August 21, 2014

There has been a staggering increase in police violence against unarmed people, and situations where non-lethal force would have been more than sufficient to subdue a criminal or person of interest. Police are trained in many things before they are allowed to get their badge and gun, but there needs to be a mandatory "refresher course" where the focus is the use of non-lethal force and stressful situation control.

Officers have a responsibility to protect all people but the instances where police use violence and lethal force to solve any given situation just keeps increasing. There have been many videos surfacing from all over the country where police use lethal, sometimes excessive, force to subdue someone; the power abuse needs to stop. Mandate non-lethal force training for all police.
