It is a well-proven fact that mindfulness training and meditation practice assists in mental health issues, stress management, anger management, self discipline, interpersonal challenges, depression, physical health issues, dealing with physical and emotional pain, self-esteem, compassion for others, dealing with change, concentration and more. Meditation is not prayer and should not be considered a threat to any religious beliefs. There are many forms of meditation. And meditation is not difficult, despite what some people may think. Imagine if mindfulness (paying attention and slowing down one's thinking and reactivity) was taught to every child...especially if from an early age when they are most receptive. Imagine the difference it can make to that child and society.
