Our elected officials in Washington continue to steer our country toward an imminent financial collapse through the irresponsible borrowing and printing of money. Unless this pattern of capricious fiscal stewardship is brought to an immediate end, the citizens of our great nation will inevitably suffer the worst economic catastrophe in United States history, surpassing even that of the great depression. Thus, we hereby petition the United States government to mandate the annual passage of a balanced federal budget until such a time that our national debt has been eliminated or the American people approve a resumption of borrowing.
