mandate that banks must notify consumers when a bank identifies that their financial information has been compromised.

Created by C.L. on November 19, 2013

We the people petition the President of the United States to submit to Congress new legislation which would ensure proper disclosure to consumers when their financial institution has been notified by a merchant or electronic card processor that their financial information has or may have been compromised. If a debit or credit card is canceled or reissued or an account is frozen the financial institution will notify the customer within 24 hours of any action taken by their financial institution and within 30 days the financial institution will also provide the date, time, transaction number and name of the merchant or business that was involved with the data breach.
