mandate better handling of valuable musical instruments at airlines throughout the United States.

Created by J.K. on February 14, 2014

For years musicians traveling by air have experienced unacceptable handling and care with their instruments. These musicians, especially those with larger instruments such as cellos and basses, have suffered both financial and emotional losses in these cases with little to no reimbursement reaching at most the hundreds of dollars when their broken instruments are valued in the thousands or even millions of dollars. Such treatment toward musicians coming and going to the US to provide the service of music is wrong and needs to be reevaluated and corrected. I ask the US Government work with airlines to provide proper care towards musicians' instruments so that their valuable possession is not damaged at any process of flying domestically or internationally from the United States.
