With more and more retailers opening their doors earlier and earlier into the tail end of Thanksgiving Day, more and more retail employees are being required to cut their time with their family and loved ones short on one of the few holidays they have, just to show up to work so other people can mob the stores to get started on their Holiday Shopping.
If businesses wish to keep pushing the start of the holiday shopping season, further and further into Thanksgiving day, they should have to pay their works fairly for their time, just as they do for Labor Day, New Years Day, Memorial Day, etc... This means from the moment the employee shows up to work Thanksgiving Day, till the store closes, the employer must pay all employee's time-and-a-half for their work on Black Friday.
