Several years ago (2009/2010), the US congress passed regulations on the credit/debit card industry. These new regulations focused on honesty, transparency, and consumer protection. They saved consumers millions of dollars in fees and kept card providers from tricking consumers.

I would suggest that similar regulations need to be placed on the telecommunications industry. Mainly, the regulations need to be placed on cable/internet providers. Every American knows that cable/internet providers are rarely honest, constantly charge hidden fees, and provide horrible customer service. Every American has had their fees hiked without prior warning by their cable/internet provider.
