I am a proud wife of a veteran, my husband served in Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Our son joined the US Army a year ago and is currently deployed. AT&T is our cell phone carrier. We are aware that do to our son’s deployment overseas phone calls or text away from wifi will inquire international charges. We requested a military cancellation which will allow him to use the phone with a carrier where he is located, however AT&T required to pay the device in full in order to unlock the phone for the time period he is there, even thou he will come back to AT&T when he returns to the USA. I am requesting the Obama administration to mandate Cell Phone carriers to put an end to international charges for calls and text messages from deployed soldiers.
