Mandate each state to be responsible for absorbing all water costs for any residents affected by polluted water systems

Created by S.M. on February 15, 2016

In the case of Flint Michigan, residents are forced to pay their water bills despite the high levels of lead that make their water unusable. This contamination is due to poor and irresponsible decisions made by their state government. As a result of this carelessness, the state government needs to be held accountable financially for the damage that has been done to those they represent.

Keeping in mind the situation of Flint, Michigan, this petition asks that there be federal regulations introduced that ensures that citizens be freed from paying the water costs of any polluted water system during the time of its contamination and that the state absorb the full cost of its citizens' water under these emergency circumstances.
