Mandate elementary school libraries because of their direct link to student achievement

Created by V.S. on January 11, 2014

School libraries on the elementary school level are not mandated where the need for school libraries are most needed to ensure the student has all the skills needed to evaluate vast amounts of information now at their fingertips. It is at this young age that we can teach our students to critically evaluate this information to lay the foundation of the skills to succeed in their high school and college careers. Also, this is a time when we can nurture the love of reading. Good reading skills and vocabulary are also necessary parts of successful students.
