End User License Agreements are often thousands of words long, and have pages and pages of text. Most people do not read the documents because it is such a daunting task, yet the agreements are often held up in court.
Running a piece of software shouldn't require a 20-page contract that only gets presented upon first launch, after you've already paid for and installed it. Any terms that are displayed at this time should be limited to what can be reasonably displayed at one time on a screen with no/minimal scrolling, and can be understood by the target audience of the application.
