People who spend money for alternative health treatments and dietary supplements should be rewarded for applying effort to stay healthy. The expenses incurred for staying healthy should count toward our health insurance deductible. Initially, the deductible expenses could be limited to recommendations by licensed practitioners and later expanded as circumstances may suggest.
Many people spend thousands of dollars per year to stay healthy, resulting in less demand on the health care system. These people are punished when they eventually do make a health insurance claim and have to pay thousands more dollars in deductibles. It is inherently unfair for those who make an effort to maintain their health to not be allowed to claim proactive health related expenses.
