We request the U.S. Army to implement a mandate requiring spouses and parents of young Soldiers to complete an introductory session of Family Readiness Training (i.e.: AFTB--already in place, readily available online) prior to recruits shipping to Basic Combat Training (BCT) and reduce resource strain and individual emotional states.
Experience reflects Soldier stress and family anxieties are due to a lack of familiarity with the military and can be eliminated through awareness provided by training.
We the people, urge you to consider implementing the process of Family Readiness to be mandated at the recruitment level and provide our nation's Soldiers with a more solid foundation from which to serve, while meeting mission requirements and the goals of the United States and its people.
