Mandate the FDA to implement a drug approval reciprocity program

Created by J.O. on August 26, 2013

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) should implement a drug approval reciprocity program with at least one foreign country. A drug approval reciprocity program would allow a drug approved in another country with stringent standards (Canada for example) to automatically be approved in the United States without completing the approval process in the United States. Completing the drug approval process in the USA can cost over $100 million dollars, and take several years. Drug approval reciprocity would mean lower prices for pharmaceuticals and quicker access to new drugs for cancer patients.
