Majority of states do not require health insurance companies offer coverage for infertility treatments. Most of the insurance companies don't offer any type of coverage, with only few offering coverage for establishing a diagnosis, but not the coverage for treatment such as assisted reproduction or prescribed medications necessary for the completion of the treatment. This petition is requesting a change which would require insurance companies offer and pay for medically necessary treatments in order to overcome fertility issues for both men and women.
