Acupuncture works!
...But insurance companies often either do not include acupuncture as a covered therapy or make it difficult for providers to get paid for the treatments they've given to patients. When insurance companies do pay for acupuncture treatments, reimbursement rates are often not on an equivalent scale to other healthcare providers...so pay parity would be fantastic as well!
...Colleges keep pumping out new acupuncturists, yet few of those that get licensed are able to succeed and the vast majority of acupuncturists are said to not be practicing at all after 5 years.
...The U.S. has millions of people who could benefit from acupuncture, but their insurance won't cover it and they can't pay out of pocket...So patients are suffering and providers are under-utilized.
