Mandate an increase in salaries for resident and fellow physicians in training

Created by V.S. on February 23, 2016

Current average resident physicians in training receive about $55,000
When taken into account the amount of training that is required to obtain an MD, finish a residency, start fellowship, and the mounting burden of medical school debt with interest, the minimum salary needs to be increased to compensate.
These are physicians being paid less than nursing staff, administration and case managers; working in extremely stressful situations with long periods of sleep deprivation. The current resident and fellow physician salaries need to be reformed.
