Mandate Insurance for gun owners

Created by L.G. on December 25, 2012

Gun owners should be required to have insurance for each gun that they own. The insurance would pay for the funerals, healthcare costs, and property damage caused by shootings.
The Supreme Court ruled last term the government can mandate insurance. Conservatives, who always complain that the government pays for too much, can hardly complain if gun owners are required to pay the costs resulting from a shooting. Gun owners with good safety records, like accident free drivers, will pay lower insurance rates.
The government has shown that they can not control guns, let private companies try.
