Mandate that the IRS proactively provide to each taxpayer a unique personal identifier (PIN) for tax filing security.

In order to help protect Americans from identity theft--in particular someone fraudulently using another's social security number to file a fake tax return--this petition calls for the IRS to implement mandatory unique personal identifiers for each tax filer (PIN) in order to help reduce tax return fraud. Currently the IRS issues PINs once your account has been compromised. This would be a proactive petition, rather that a reactive stance the IRS currently has in place.
