Mandate mobile/RV park owners to have a storm shelter on the property. http://1.usa.gov/1qiq6NA

Created by C.S. on June 27, 2014

The hardest hit by severe storms are those who live in mobile home parks. This has been the case for decades; most people are aware of this. This is especially important to consider because of the number of children who are at risk in these communities. I have researched this issue and did find that this has been brought to congress in the past, only to be shut down by mobile home manufacturers. Which does not make sense because this should be a requirement of the property manager. Why is it that commercial structures are required a contingency plan while mobile/RV parks are not? Also, this should be a countywide requirement, not just in the tornado prone areas. This is because hurricane winds, derechos, and other disasters are also dangerous situations for these structures.
