United States legislation is being suggested to mandate ALL vehicles are equipped with collision detection and avoidance systems, in effect, communicating with each other. There is no mention if motorcycles are included, nor dialogue emphasizing the vulnerability of motorcycles vs. other vehicles with regard to collisions-which are more often than not-fatal to motorcycle riders. I suggest as a ramping up to the effectiveness of this technology, and an emphasis on the need to reduce motorcycle fatalities before fender benders, developers perfect a Motorcycle Alert and Avoidance Sensor (MAAS) in all vehicles first. In aviation, vulnerable aircraft have the right-of-way. There is no reason motorcycles shouldn't receive the same consideration on our roadways.
