Recently Boise State coach Leon Rice said after a loss to the University of Montana: “They battled, they did all they could, but that one’s on me for scheduling this game,” Rice said.
Currently "Bigger" NCAA schools have adopted this entitlement philosophy that they are too good to have to play away games at "mid-major" or "low major" schools. Instead of a fair schedule that would promote equality and generate revenue for both schools, the top schools pay smaller schools to play at their gyms only. This creates an unfair advantage for the have's as they pad their home schedule with "wins" and hinders the lower school with difficult away games that jeopardize their chance at a NCAA tournament bid.
This un-equal scheduling also reduces the local interest level for the "have not" school.
