Mandate nine months paid maternity leave for women and three months paid leave for men who are United States Citizens

The United States has the worst established maternity leave benefits. Many countries (NOT including the US) has maternity benefits of 1 year with at least 80% of their pay!! The first year of a child's life is extremely precious and vital that the mother at least is with them, not only for breast feeding but also for creating a bond and learning many new skills. Some women only get a few weeks of leave simply because they cannot afford to take more time or their company does not provide any benefit at all. These women are having to put their children, at the delicate age of a few weeks into the hands of a stranger at a day care, where their child will probably not get the attention and love it needs.... from its mother! Its time for the United States to step up and love our children!!!!
