The majority of people in the United States of America speak American English. We are taught it in school and use it everyday. Due to the absence of an official language, and the associated regulations and requirements; everyday businesses and consumers are forced to pay more for goods and services due to requirements that many places (such as hospitals) provide free translation services, signs and forms in multiple languages, etc.
