The United States is the only developed country in the world without paid maternity leave. The ONLY one. That is not only embarrassing, it's unacceptable. Forcing families to choose between going without a salary and having a baby is unethical. Forcing mothers to give up caring for their newborns because they are going broke is unacceptable. Enough is enough. President Obama, you mandated marriage equality. You mandated affordable healthcare. Now is the time to mandate paid maternity leave. Set this country in the right direction.
