Mandate paid maternity leave for working mothers and offer some paid paternity leave for working fathers as well.

The United States is only one of three countries that do not offer any type of paid maternity or paternity leave for working parents. As one of the top money making countries in the world, we should offer this to moms and dads so they will not have to choose between getting a paycheck and caring for a newborn. The first weeks of life are very crucial for a newborn and need bonding with both parents. And as a new mother, it is hard to stay home alone with your child(ren) and dad has to go back to work. Especially if you have other children who need to go to school or other places and you do not want to get out with a newborn, the dad will be able to be there to help out. It is not fair for us when poverty stricken countries offer this to new parents and we don't. This needs to be changed!
