Mandate Paid Parental Leave

Created by A.A. on February 19, 2016

Imagine that you have to choose between paying bills and caring for your newborn child. After you gave birth, you were only able to stay home for 3 weeks. This is my sister's story. This is the story for many families in America.

The U.S is the only industrialized nation without paid parental leave. It is a shame that in the United States that paid paternal leave is not mandated, especially when there has been countless research that attests to the health benefits for both parent and child. Parental leave allows for bonding between the parent and child and for mothers, breast feeding is easier. The employer also profits. This benefit helps to retain employees and also increases job satisfaction.

Paid parental leave is not a perk. Help me tell the government that it is a right.
