We request that the US Government mandate that all on-campus K-12 employees be granted a 25% to 50% pay increase in light of the risk to life and limb they face in their daily work routine.
Hazard pay is a just, and long-held tradition in the United States, and after multiple school shootings where teachers lost their lives defending their students, it is only right that school employees receive appropriate compensation. Compensation would start at 25% of base pay for workers with minimal student contact and end at 50% of base pay for teachers and others who have to work one-on-one with students.
All states would be required to pay this. Refusal to do so would result in a loss of all Federal funding for all programs.
