Presently the United States is one of only three nations in the world that has not adopted the International System of Units (metric system) on an official basis. In order to promote standardization and ease trade, we petition the Obama administration to work towards primary metric labeling of all good sold in the United States (as well as street signs, etc).
Primary metric labeling would allow, but not mandate, that customary ("Imperial" even though our units are slightly different) units be listed with secondary status.
For example, instead of 16.9 oz (500 mL) a package would now read either 500 mL (16.9 oz) or simply 500 mL. Street signs would consist of international standard (speed with a red circle) signs in km/h with mph being an optional secondary sign. Similar changes elsewhere.
