For the safety of all drivers on the road, it is imperative that the government institute regular driver's license retesting for senior citizens. When individuals have reached an age where they are eligible to collect social security benefits, they should become ineligible to hold a driver's license for longer than a few years.
Mandatory retesting on some kind of regular basis (1-5 years is suggested) will ensure that individuals with declining or inadequate senses and/or motor function are not legally permitted to operate motor vehicles.
Keeping incompetent older drivers off the road will boost revenue generated from additional license tests, create job opportunities for personal drivers, and provide a safer environment for all drivers.
