We'd like an immediate state/federal tax credit or up front check for the equal amount per pupil that is currently being spent on public education. The Federal Government should take a leadership approach that mandates each parent of a student would receive the commesurate dollars in the form of a voucher or reimbursed based on the school of their choice.
The freedom of choice would spur greater competitiveness and entreprenuerial spirit that our country needs to raise the standard in our education system.
For example in my home state of Minnesota, there is about a cost of $7000-$11000 per student. Other states may vary, however the average per district would be either reimbursed directly or up front for parents to choose where there students will receive instruction.
