A worldwide epidemic has spread across the globe, that of pet overpopulation. Each year, roughly 2.7 million dogs, cats, and other companion animals are euthanized in US shelters. The issue stems in part from the lack of mandatory sterilization laws, as well as excessive breeding.
As a nation on the forefront of many advancements, it is time the United States step up and tackle the growing problem that keeps getting bigger. We urge you to petition our government to put in place laws which would require all companion animals be neutered. The only exception(s) permitted would apply to animals whom are; deemed unfit by a veterinarian to undergo the sterilization process, animals employed for use as service animals by federal entities, pedigree animals whom are owned by registered breeders.
