Mandate technology to prevent death of children by hyperthermia.

Created by J.E. on July 07, 2014

Mandate car seat manufacturers and automakers to develop and implement technology to detect children forgotten in car seats. Car seats are required by law; child detection and alert technology needs to be required as well. An alarm that is seen and heard both inside and outside the vehicle is necessary.

Hyperthermia from being left in a vehicle is a completely preventable cause of death that kills 38 children (on average) in the United States each year. So far in 2014, 15 children have died due to hyperthermia in vehicles. That’s 15 too many.

It’s time to come up with a solution so that this never happens again. The US government has the power to save the lives of countless children.
