Mandate Total Government Transparency, by publishing all Federal documents within 2 years of their creation

Created by N.B. on September 26, 2011

Total Government Transparency means all federal documents become publicly available online as soon as possible. Every document becomes public within a fixed time period, no more than 2 years after being written.

Total Government Transparency shines a light on all parts of the government. This reduces illicit activity, and improves the democratic process by keeping everyone informed. It enables voters to take more knowledgeable stances regarding candidates and government agencies, so the people are better represented.

A transparent government engages in fewer unsavory activities, since officials know everything will become public. The mandatory deadline prevents perpetual secrets. Voters are better informed. Therefore, Total Government Transparency is the right thing for America.
