Electronic voting machines help speed up election results but there is skepticism about using these machines as sole voting mechanism. This is due to the possibility of manipulation via hacking. To assuage these doubts, the machines should have a printer. The printed ballots should allow the voter to verify selections. In order to make verification and/or recount easier, the printed ballots should have a way of electronically read them (i.e. scantron or barcode).
