We the People of the United States request that the Executive branch mandate the use of non-lethal ammunition for use by police departments across the country unless extraordinary circumstances require otherwise.
Non-lethal ammunition serves the purpose of keeping suspects alive and able to answer to the justice system. It would prevent most deaths caused by unwarranted discharge of a firearm by police while responding to low level threats.
Should the threat sufficiently warrant the use of potentially deadly force, a special task force may be called in with other types of ammunition.
The goal of the police is not to kill a suspect. Adopting this policy would show the citizens of the United States that their government has their welfare and interests at heart.
