Mandate the VA's electronic health record be used by all providers caring for veterans. Universal acceptance will follow

Created by J.M. on September 13, 2013

The VA intends to outsource over 9 billion dollars of health care over the next 5 years, without requiring this care to be documented in the VA's electronic health record. In the past, the VA's documentation and data system has been able to identify health issues and adverse events at the earliest stages. It's poor planning to allow electronic documentation to go back to paper. Mandating usage of the VA's VistA free electronic health record for all veteran's health care will keep the veteran's data base intact. Mr. President preserve this national asset. Sincerely, a VA Physician
