Mandate warning statements before reality TV shows

Created by D.L. on March 23, 2013

Reality TV is breeding ignorance and desensitizing viewers to different cultures and lifestyles. The term "reality" is inherently misleading. Reality television shows are fake, dramatic representations of many different aspects of life. However, many consumers of broadcasted reality TV shows believe what they see to be real, in turn causing them to change their perceptions of and interactions with other people in negative ways. Clear warnings need to be placed before these shows begin in order to educate viewers of what is real and what is not. Failure to do so may damage the well-being of society.
