Mandate that Yellow Ribbon Events for returning service members not be required for single Service Members

The Yellow Ribbon Events are not helpful to Single Soldiers as they do not provide benefits to Single Soldiers. The Yellow Ribbon Events are geared towards Married Service Members and their family. At the present moment these events are mandatory and therefore force a Single Service Member to participate in what amounts to a waste of Government Funds. That being said I hereby petition the United States Government to discontinue or at the very least make it optional for Single Service Members on whether they attend one of these events.
