We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Mandated Higher Education For Peace Officers

Created by B.M. on December 06, 2016

In the vast majority of police precincts in the country, the only requirements to be considered as a prospective peace officer is to be twenty one years of age, have a high school diploma or it's equivalent, and possess no felony convictions. However, there have been multiple research studies that indicate that peace officers that possess higher education use force twelve percent less of the time during arrests.

While states rights to determine their own policies are important, in the wake of increased awareness of police overreach, we the people would like to call upon the federal government to mandate a higher degree of education being required for those that we would entrust with keeping the public safe.
