Mandatory 50% pay cut for all elected government officials

I propose that all elected government officials, making an annual salary in excess of $150k are required to take an immediate, mandatory, and permanent, 50% pay cut. Furthermore, no branch of government, shall have the authority to vote, to give themselves a raise in pay. Any and all future pay raises, must be approved and voted on, by the american people, every 2 years at the same time that any national election takes place. this proposal will be on the voters ballot and may only pass if the general public overwhelmingly votes yes.
