Jefferson was correct. There is no greater depositary for the power of the nation than in the hands of the people. However, civic education program funding has dwindled to the point of fiscal embarrasment. Currently, in the state of Arizona - the last most effective national civics program is reduced to groveling for funding. This program is called "We The People." If citizens are to effectively express their constitutional muscles - they need to have quality and effective programs that help citizens understand their role. Simply stated - our elected house representatives and senators need to ensure that a nominal sum of money from their individual budgets are reserved to educate the citizens they answer to. It is their responsibilty to ensure continue civic education in their state.
