Mandatory disclosure of chemicals used for hydraulic fracturing.

Created by A.E. on September 03, 2013

Businesses seeking permission to obtain natural gas from hydraulic fracturing on public lands must make the exact composition of the chemicals used to the EPA. Furthermore, any citizens residing in states hosting hydraulic fracturing businesses also have an obligation to provide transparency about the precise chemicals pumped in and out of public property. FracFocus.org is a start, but lacks specifics. The exact chemical nature of fracturing materials and the reactants produced in soils where these operations occur must be provided to an independently funded organization free from conflicts of interest.
